Welcoming Baby Sam to the Family :)

Oliver was one of the very first babies we ever photographed, so it was a complete delight to get to see him become an older brother recently! He's already figured out that the best part is trying to make his new little brother smile, and at 3 months, Baby Sam is a bundle of joy :) Here are some of my favourite images from our recent session with this lovely family..
I love that we photographed Oliver on this same quilt when he was just a few weeks old, and now it's Sam's turn :)
This was probably the trickiest part of the session (Oliver just wants to run and jump at this point!), but these pictures ended up being my favourites! I love the range of expressions between
the two of them :)

Rasha & Wil: your family is absolutely beautiful and it was such a joy to hang out with all of you! We look forward to seeing these hilarious brothers grow up together :)

Sweet Baby Teddy - 6 months old :)

It seems like just yesterday that we were photographing Angela & Roman's wedding, where one of the games during dinner had them diapering a doll to test their future parenting skills. Fast-forward to now, and everyone can see that they are fantastic parents :) Teddy is one of the calmest and best-behaved little guys we've ever met, and it was so fun seeing what lengths 4 adults would go to just to see his very rewarding smiles! Here are some of my favourite images from our recent session with this little cutie..

I love his little hat so much!

Angela & Roman: we love seeing you guys with little Teddy - you're both such naturals and we had a great time with the three of you!

Sweet Baby Henry at 3 Months Old :)

It seems like just a few days ago that we were photographing Baby Henry's debut when he was less than a week old, and now all of a sudden he's 3 months old! Older brothers Cameron and Oliver still think he's pretty great, and so do we :) Here are some of my favourite images from our most recent summery session with the whole family..

Cameron is pretty much the family joker, and had so much fun tickling his younger brothers!

It was definitely one of those days where being near a splash pad was a great idea :) Henry's still a bit tiny for that kind of excitement, so he just chilled out in the shade :)
Sarah & Mike: we can't believe how wide-eyed and smiley Henry has become in such a short time! We had a blast at the park with you guys, and can't wait to see you all again soon!

Sweet Baby Lachlan - 6 months and 4 teeth :)

{In case you've missed the start of this story, here are Andrea & Dave's maternity session, and Lachlan's newborn and 4-month session. If you're really behind, you can also check out their engagement session and wedding day as well ;) }
Now that you're up to date, you'll appreciate how much Lachlan has grown and changed in the past couple of months! He's got 4 teeth already, can sit up like a champion, and is so full of smiles it's unbelievable :) We got together recently to capture this adorable stage in his life..
OMG - that hat!! And check out those eyes :)
 Teeth!
Of all his new talents, this is my favourite - as soon as you put him on his back, Lachlan does crunches to try to sit up, resulting in the most hilarious facial expressions!
He can't resist delicious Peter Rabbit ;)
Andrea & Dave: We are having so much fun seeing wee Lachlan grow from a tiny newborn into a smiley little boy! Thanks so much for inviting us along on his first year adventures :) Can't wait to see what he'll have in store for us next time!

Jacqueline & Ted - Twins on the Way!! :)

I've known Jacqueline and her fantastic business Soak for over a decade now, and it seems like just the other day we were photographing the awesome day when she and Ted got married at Soho House.. now they're having TWINS!! We are super-excited for them! But before their lives get totally taken over by these new little people, we got together to photograph their maternity session :) Here are some of my favourite images from that lovely day..
I'm totally in love with Jacqueline's necklace! It was such a great pop of colour :)

We finished off our walk around the neighbourhood by going for coffee and the craziest walnut chocolate chip cookies you've ever seen :)
Jacqueline & Ted - we are over the moon excited for you two! We can't wait to meet your tiny twins when they arrive!!

Welcoming Baby Henry to the Family :)

We recently had the pleasure of meeting Baby Henry for the first time :) As a third brother, he has been born to experienced parents and two very excited older brothers! Things were a bit chaotic at times (as all parents can relate to I'm sure), but wee Henry just took it in stride. Here are some of my favourite images from that day..
Sarah is an amazing knitter, and made this gorgeous blanket. She and Mike both made Henry's sign using the yarn left over after the blanket was made :)
Daddy entertaining the two big brothers while we spent a bit of time with Henry :)
I love his perfect Superman pose (below), his wee smile, and of course - the tiny baby toes!!

(I'm not the only one who thinks his toes are pretty great!)

I love the range of expressions in these last images - Oliver's at an age where he's quicker than 4 adults and kept "escaping", Cameron is an old pro at being photographed and can be quite the ham, and Henry - apart from one big yawn - just chilled :)
Sarah & Mike: as always, it was a complete pleasure to capture this exciting moment in your family's history. We had so much fun photographing and being entertained by your three sweet boys - the two of you are doing an excellent job :) Can't wait to see you soon to show you the rest of the images!

Super-Smiley Baby Lachlan at 4 months :)

I can't believe how time flies! It seems like just a few weeks before, we were photographing Baby Lachlan as a sweet little newborn, and now he's 4 months already! He's grown up a lot, and can now give his dad a run for his money with his "stoic" look - especially because it seems that as soon as Dave became a father, he starting grinning ear-to-ear non-stop :) (Andrea has always been full of smiles!) Here are some of my favourite images from our recent session..
What a lovely day - we had blossoms, ducks, turtles, and loads of general natural beauty :)
And of course - this guy! He's always been adorable, but I love how Lachlan is starting to become a wee character :) He was full of smiles, and lots of hilarious expressions too!
I never really get over baby's feet - they have to be the sweetest things in the world :) Oh ya - and those big eyes..!
I love the expression in this first shot, and the drool-wiping is priceless ;)
Andrea & Dave - as always, we had so much fun photographing the three of you! Thanks for bringing us along on this adventure that is the first year of Lachlan's wee life!!

Meet Sweet Baby Lachlan at 2 Weeks Old :)

Andrea & Dave have felt like old friends of ours from about 5 minutes into our first meeting - we had a great time photographing their engagement session and fantastic wedding a few years back, and even more fun at their recent maternity session this fall :) So it came as no surprise that the newest addition to their family is also awesome. Meet Baby Lachlan, master of many facial expressions and wielder of (knitted) axes, two weeks old..

Here's what I love best about newborn sessions: the snuggling :) Also the sweet soothing, and the blissful wonder on the new parents' faces :)
This range of expressions happened in the span of about 5 seconds! I especially love the last one (bottom right)
Baby Lachlan is blessed with a few very talented knitters in the family :) And while he may not be ready to go axe-throwing just yet, at least he's got the outfit for it ;)
Andrea is an amazing jeweller, and has made many "wax seal" monogram pendants for her clients - now she's got one of her own to commemorate the arrival of Baby Lachlan!
You may remember Dave's "stoic" look from their Brick Works maternity session.. well, it seems he can't hold it for long around this adorable little guy :)
Andrea & Dave: "thrilled" would be an understatement of how happy we are for you and your families :) We loved spending time with the three of you, and can't wait to do it again soon!

Kayla's 2-year-old Rainbow Bridge Adventure :)

Little Kayla has grown up a lot since the last time we photographed her - like most toddlers, she loves to run, spin, jump, and giggle, and her vocabulary would put most grown ups to shame ;) She also loves rainbows. Mommy thought the rainbow bridge in the Don Valley might be a fun spot for our photo session, and she was right - Kayla's reaction to seeing the bridge for the first time was utter glee.. I'll be surprised if she's not asking to go back on a regular basis ;) I love this first shot of her as she rounded the corner and starting racing towards the bridge! And rainbow umbrellas were the icing on the cake :)

She made us all dizzy spinning around and around swinging her umbrella, but somehow
never stumbled (thankfully!)
She's also got a keen eye for nature - after spotting a racoon napping near the bridge over the river, she also spotted a really big (and very dead) salmon washed up on the rocks. After pointing it out to all of us, she mentioned that he'd "got himself in quite a predicament" - which had us all in stitches!
Kayla had her own ideas about the "cute matching shoes" picture ;)

Kym & Adam: we had so much fun with you two and Miss Kayla! Thanks for having us tag along for your rainbow bridge adventure day!!

Baby Oliver Turns 1!!

We've actually been photographing Baby Oliver since he was still in his Mommy's tummy, and had such a fun year capturing this little guy as a newborn, 3-month-old, and 6-month-old baby :) The year has flown by, and before we knew it we were at Baby Oliver's first birthday party last weekend! We had so much fun, and - as you can see from the pictures - so did everyone else..

The Birthday Boy :) It was so great watching him play with the bubbles!
Sarah did a fantastic job as always: making rainbow cupcakes as well as this mini three-tiered cake for Oliver to enjoy. She even made a bucket full of colourful felt monsters for the kids (and photographers!) to take home :)

One of the entertainment highlights was this inflatable pool full of balls - I love this action shot of Big Brother Cameron! And how heart-meltingly adorable is the little snuggle sequence below?!
There was also a circus tent and crawl-through tube that were as fun to photograph as they were to play in! Plus - balloons, which were second maybe only to bubbles in terms of popularity :)
I love these images above - Oliver covered in berry juice, and Mike and Cameron giving
him fits of giggles!
And then.. drum roll.. cake time!! (Cameron did a great Big Brother job of helping to blow out the candle)
The cake was a big hit :) And how sweet is that perfect tiny icing hand print on Sarah's jeans??

Just over a year ago, we took a photo with a stack of three hands.. and now there are four :)
Happy Birthday Baby Oliver!!

Sarah & Mike: True story - on our way home, I got a bit nostalgic and said to Norman, "I wonder how many more years Cameron will think it's hilarious to be tickled and chased around the room? I wonder how long we've got until these boys aren't young enough to think that playing around with us grown-ups is fantastic, and instead we become embarrassing weirdos?" and he said, "I guess that's why it's important to Sarah and Mike to capture this while they're still young." You guys are awesome, and thank you so much for sharing your special family moments with us!

{to put it in a bit of context, this is now the 10th time we've photographed Cameron in his sweet little life, and the 12th time I've photographed Sarah & Mike, so it's maybe understandable that I'm pretty attached to this lovely family ;) }
