Romina & Mike's Gorgeous, Romantic, and Hilarious Wedding :)

Romina & Mike are that rare kind of couple that can switch from romantic to goofy and back again in a matter of minutes. We had so much fun photographing their kayaking engagement session last fall that we knew their wedding day would be a blast! Like most days towards the end of this summer, their wedding day was a hot one - but armed with a gang of fan-wielding bridesmaids, these guys were up for anything :) On top of that, there were enough gorgeous details to give the day a truly enchanted feeling.. here are some of my favourite images from this awesome day :)

Romina's gown had this sea of ruffles that I loved, and it suited her perfectly!

I also love a pocket square that isn't just a straight line - Mike pulled this off very nicely :)
I'd seen the outside of this church a couple of months prior, but nothing had prepared me for how lovely, airy, and bright it was on the inside! And the arches... :)

Seriously - between Romina's gown and her bouquet, I'm not sure which I loved more!
The succulents were such a great touch :)

Everyone in the Bridal Party climbed aboard the great big limo coach, and we headed over to the McMichael Gallery, which has beautiful scenery all around :)
Did I mention this was in the early days of Pokemon Go? Just below, you'll see the guilty face of someone caught in the act in the middle of doing photos ;)
"What's that behind your back?" "Nothing.."

And then the reception.. here come all those beautiful details I mentioned earlier!
Maid of Honour Christine also made this stunning cake!

We snuck the bride & groom away for a quick last photo - they were pretty much this happy and relaxed all day long, which I loved :)

Romina & Mike: from what I can tell, you two are absolutely perfect for each other :) You put everyone around you at ease, and are such a pleasure to spend time with! May you have many years of the kind of joyous giggles that your wedding day was full of :)

Maureen & Matthew's Comic-Themed Wedding at the Glenerin Inn :)

Looking back at Maureen & Matthew's engagement session in the Distillery District that we did around Christmas last year, I noticed something: my first impression of the two of them was that they were super-snuggly, and couldn't stop laughing. So it should come as no surprise that their wedding day was full of laughter and kisses in almost equal measure :) These two super-fans share a love of many similar interests, so they decided to go with a couple of those when planning their wedding.. when I asked if they had a theme for the day, the answer was "Comics & Candy" - and there was lots of both! I think what really set the tone for the day was Maureen's spectacular silver Vans, and Matthew's Marvel-themed pair to match :) Here are some of the highlights of one of the sweetest and most fun weddings I've ever seen..
The couple chose the Glenerin Inn in Mississauga as their venue - not only a beautiful set of buildings, but there was some gorgeous fall foliage surrounding the property :)
First Look: I love how palpable the anticipation is at this moment of the day! And I especially love both Maureen & Matthew's expressions when they first opened their eyes :)

The fantastic shoes, plus Maureen's bouquet included origami flowers that she had made out of comic book pages, and was wrapped in her grandmother's rosary - I love those personal touches!
We were then joined by the rest of the Bridal Party, plus the Moms of the Bride & Groom..
And this guy! Too cute for words!!
Guests started to arrive for the ceremony shortly after..
I love this about Maureen & Matthew: even though they'd already seen each other, and had spent the last couple of hours doing photographs together, they still both burst into tears as soon
as their eyes met as Maureen came down the aisle :)
Maureen's nephew read an excerpt from Dr. Suess' "Oh! The Places You'll Go!", which was perfect :)
After the ceremony, we snuck back out to do a few fun photos before dinner..
Maureen painted this Deadpool sign herself, and they also wrapped all the little candy-filled pots in comic pages. There was a table with bowls of candy lined up in a row, right next to the Jenga blocks that guests signed with their happy wishes. The Princess Leia & Darth Vader flutes
were made by Maureen's aunt :)

The top layer actually had a comic strip printed in icing, which was pretty awesome - and the cupcakes were Wolverine and Deadpool (both delicious!)

 It's a toss-up who had more fun - the kids or the grown-ups ;)
Maureen & Matthew: you two had a day that was entirely, perfectly, you. It was fun, and sweet, and heartfelt, and most of all, full of love :) We are so happy for you, and wish you many years full of more of the same!

Angela & Roman's Romantic Vintage Wedding at the Heintzman House :)

Angela & Roman have known each other for many years, and have been sweethearts living in separate countries for most of those years. After rising to the challenge of a long-term long-distance relationship, they spent the past year with an additional challenge: planning their wedding together across many miles and a few time zones. Every time we saw them, they seemed full of joy just to be in the same place at the same time together, yet they are also one of the most relaxed and thoughtful couples I've ever met :) The most important thing to them about their big day? The family and friends who would be there to celebrate with them. They put so much thought and time into designing and making many of the details, which resulted in a day that was beautiful, personal, and full of love! Here are some of my favourite images from Angela & Roman's romantic vintage wedding at The Heintzman House..

We started the day with the guys getting ready.. Roman had two camera looks that I loved: his "philosophical contemplative" look (which he would later demonstrate for Angela),
and his boxing stance ;)
Then down the hall to the bride's room, where Angela's bridesmaids were over the moon excited for her big day :)
Absolutely stunning! Angela glowed :)

The suspense before their "First Look" - I love how you can see Angela take a deep breath as a single tear slides down her cheek while waiting for Roman..
(Roman shows Angela how philosophical he can look below.. she was obviously very impressed!)
The aisle was a runway of heart-shaped flower petals :)

After a lovely ceremony and brief reception at the church, we went back to the Heintzman House for photos and cocktails.. Roman's Auntie and Angela's Uncle both traveled quite far to be there for the day, which the couple was very grateful for :)
Great couple, beautiful venue, and a gorgeous classic car! The family friend who did all the floral decor around the tulip bed has known Angela since she was about 8 years old :)
I loved this bridal party - everyone was up for a laugh and we had a great time together!

A quick change of gowns for the bride, and then all the guests joined us out on the patio for a huge group shot before the bouquet toss..
I loved all the pretty vintage details Angela & Roman had - the twinkle light backdrop
was especially magical!

Roman's parents presented the newlyweds with a traditional Russian bread, which they tasted before Roman literally swept Angela off her feet and swooped her around the room before arriving at the head table!
During dinner there was never a dull moment - we were all highly entertained by all the challenges and games organized for the couple, including a singing showdown where Angela's "O Canada" was met by Roman's freestyle rapping..
Roman was put to the test: having to identify his bride's hand from a lineup while blindfolded, and having to pick her lips from a series of lipsticked napkins! (Luckily for him, he won both challenges!)

After dinner, all the guests headed outside for some great fun with sparklers :)
.. and then back inside to get the party started!
Before the night was over, we snuck Angela & Roman out for a couple of last shots - some fun with photo booth props, and a lovely glowing end to a radiant day :)
Angela & Roman: you two have been an absolute pleasure to know from the first time we met you! We had so much fun photographing your wedding, and loved getting to know your families and friends. After all you've been through together, this is the beginning of your next exciting chapter - we wish you loads of laughter, kisses and happiness in the adventures to come :)
